About Ruud Duvekot

foto-ruud-2014Who am I? Since 1995 I am involved in policy-making, training and research on lifelong learning strategies and the validation of non-formal and informal learning. I founded the “Kenniscentrum EVC”, the Dutch knowledgecentre on the Validation of Prior Learning (VPL). Recently I worked as associate professor ‘personalized learning’ at Inholland University of Applied Sciences.

At present I work as expert at the Centre for Lifelong Learning Services (CL3S). Ongoing projects are (a.o.) the capacitation-project for the sector Energy and Water in South Africa and the investigation for the Dutch ministry of Education as a quartermaster for setting up a ‘2nd generation’ knowledge centre on flexibilisation in higher education.

Apart from these activities, I chair (since 2002) the Foundation European Centre for Valuation of Prior Learning (VPL). This foundation studies, accumulates and distributes information on all aspects of VPL. I also chair the Foundation Self-management of Competences CH-Q (since 2011) that works with a Swiss licence for certification of portfolio-trainers and –assessors.
